BettingJobs is working with our client as they seek to hire an experienced Deputy Chief Technology Officer (Deputy CTO) to lead and manage the execution of their global technology strategy.

Operating primarily from our clients Tbilisi tech hub, the Deputy CTO will oversee software development, technical operations, cybersecurity, product coordination, and the project management office (PMO).

This role will act as the operational and technical extension of the CTO, ensuring alignment across regional teams and delivery of scalable, secure, and compliant platforms across all lines of business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technology Delivery & Engineering Leadership

• Lead day-to-day execution of the technology roadmap across core products, gaming platforms, payments, and internal systems.
• Manage and mentor engineering and DevOps leaders in Tbilisi and satellite offices (Bangkok, Jakarta, Panama City).
• Drive a high-performance engineering culture, modern SDLC practices, and continuous delivery.
• Ensure adherence to architectural principles, coding standards, and performance benchmarks.

2. Technical Operations & Infrastructure Oversight

• Own platform availability, scalability, and incident response operations across all hubs
• Work with DevOps teams to optimize CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Alibaba), and cost efficiency.
• Monitor and drive improvement in key metrics: system uptime, latency, CCU, 4xx/5xx error rates.

3. PMO & Cross-Team Coordination

• Lead the PMO in enforcing project governance, risk management, and cross-departmental transparency.
• Ensure delivery teams follow Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and track progress against OKRs and delivery milestones.
• Collaborate with product and commercial teams to align technical execution with business priorities and market demands.

4. Cybersecurity & Compliance Leadership

• Oversee cybersecurity frameworks and practices in collaboration with the security team and regional compliance leads.
• Ensure data protection, regulatory alignment (KYC, AML, audit trails), and security incident response.
• Support RegTech and audit readiness for licensed operations in Asia, EMEA and Latin America.

5. Product Technology Coordination

• Collaborate with product leadership to define technical feasibility, delivery scope, and go-to-market alignment
• Facilitate clear communication between product managers, developers, and QA to ensure delivery matches business expectations.
• Support product localisation, multi-currency/multi-wallet architecture, and crypto feature rollouts.

6. Leadership & Representation

• Represent the CTO in internal executive meetings, vendor relationships, and regulatory discussions.
• Lead high-priority technical programs or transformation initiatives as assigned by the CTO.
• Act as a bridge between technical execution and executive strategy across global teams.

Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in technology leadership, including at least 3 years in a senior cross-functional delivery role, ideally in the Asian market.
• Proven track record in high-availability, high-throughput B2C platforms, ideally in online gaming, fintech, or ecommerce.
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/Alibaba), DevOps tooling, agile delivery, and microservice architecture.
• Experience leading distributed teams and operating across multiple time zones and cultures.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and regulated environments (Asia and/or LATAM markets preferred).
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead through influence.
