BettingJobs is searching for an experienced sportsbook marketing professional to take on the role of Sportsbook Marketing Director for a market-leading firm in San José, Costa Rica.
The Sports Marketing Director will be responsible for growing the sports vertical. This includes working closely with the sports trading team and the marketing team, to deliver winning solutions. You will also drive the roadmap for new betting markets, product features and content. Working with marketing and customer support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are set and exceeded.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire sports betting vertical, including both the commercial and operational aspects. This includes working with internal teams and external partners to ensure optimal performance across all sports offerings.
- Partner closely with the Director of Trading to manage sports lines, prop betting, and live betting. Ensure the offshore lines and three external third-party suppliers are aligned with business goals and deliver the best possible betting experiences.
- Develop and execute the sports betting strategy for the company, positioning the company as a market leader. Ensure alignment with broader business goals and product innovation, helping to push the sportsbook to the forefront of the industry.
- Brief and collaborate with the marketing and campaign teams to ensure that all sporting events are strategically covered with the best promotions, odds, and campaigns across all marketing channels. Guide the marketing teams on key sporting moments throughout the year, ensuring consistent communication and delivery of sports campaigns that resonate with customers.
- Take full ownership of the sports betting P&L, driving profitability while managing critical KPIs, including sports actives and Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR). Ensure the sportsbook achieves its revenue targets and continually grows its active sports user base through innovative product offerings and promotional strategies.
- Build and lead a high-performing sports team. Set clear objectives, provide mentorship, and ensure the team has the necessary tools and resources to succeed in delivering the best sportsbook on the market.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in the sports betting industry, with a strong focus on North American sports.
- Proven leadership experience in a senior role managing commercial, operational, and marketing aspects of a sportsbook.
- Strong understanding of sports trading, live betting, and prop betting products.
- Experience working with third-party suppliers and managing vendor relationships.
- Demonstrated experience in briefing and collaborating with marketing and campaign teams to execute sports-related marketing initiatives.
- Experience managing key KPIs including sports actives and GGR, with a proven track record of driving revenue and customer engagement.
- P&L management experience with a track record of driving profitability in a sportsbook environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A strategic thinker with an innovative mindset, always looking for ways to improve and stay ahead of competitors.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
