Our client, a subsidiary of a leading gaming operator, is seeking talented professionals to join their new office in Tbilisi, Georgia. They are currently looking for a Legal and Compliance Manager to join the team.

As the Legal and Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for managing gaming licenses across jurisdictions (e.g., UKGC, MGA, Curaçao), including applications and renewals, as well as identifying and mitigating legal risks, ensuring operations adhere to laws and industry standards.

To be considered for this role, you will have expertise in gaming regulations in jurisdictions like the UK, Malta, and Curaçao, as well as having strong knowledge of AML, KYC, and data protection regulations in iGaming.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with iGaming laws, including licensing, AML, GDPR, and responsible gaming.
• Manage gaming licenses across jurisdictions (e.g., UKGC, MGA, Curaçao), including applications and renewals.
• Draft, review, and negotiate legal agreements (e.g., contracts, terms, and licensing agreements).
• Identify and mitigate legal risks, ensuring operations adhere to laws and industry standards.
• Develop and implement AML and KYC policies, ensuring adherence to verification and reporting requirements.
• Oversee governance procedures, legal filings, and board resolutions; advise senior leadership.
• Serve as the primary contact for regulators and external stakeholders, handling inquiries and audits.
• Create and enforce internal compliance policies and conduct staff training.
• Manage legal disputes, including complaints and litigation, in coordination with external counsel.
• Monitor regulatory updates and advise on their impact, implementing necessary changes.
• Ensure compliance with data protection laws (e.g., GDPR) in data handling practices.
• Ensure advertising and marketing align with legal and responsible gaming standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, a Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification is preferred.
• Expertise in gaming regulations in jurisdictions like the UK, Malta, and Curaçao.
• Strong knowledge of AML, KYC, and data protection regulations in iGaming.
• Proven ability in managing legal risks, compliance frameworks, and regulatory relations.
• Skilled in negotiation, contract management, and dispute resolution.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in legal research, compliance auditing, and risk assessment.
• Experience managing multi-jurisdictional gaming licenses.
• Familiarity with responsible gaming and iGaming-specific marketing regulations.
• Multilingual skills and leadership experience are advantageous.
