    Head of Risk, Fraud and Payments Operations

    BettingJobs is partnering with a fast-growing start-up based in St. Julian’s, Malta, they are searching for a Head of Risk, Fraud and Payments Operations to join their team on a hybrid basis.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead and mentor the risk, fraud, and payments operations team, fostering accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
    • Own fraud, abuse, and payments operations, aligning processes with company goals and industry best practices.
    • Partner with the Risk Strategy team to translate strategy into operational processes, fraud detection rules, and automated payment rules.
    • Manage fraud prevention across chargebacks, bonus abuse, account takeover, identity theft, and payment fraud.
    • Ensure timely, accurate payment processing within SLA and efficiency standards.
    • Deliver clear reporting on SLAs, KPIs, fraud trends, and payment efficiency to senior management.
    • Collaborate with Customer Support, VIP, and Payments Product teams to drive safe, fast, compliant, and customer-focused operations.
    • Oversee incident response and resolution of fraud, payment, and operational risks.
    • Support new market entries and licensing by aligning fraud, payments, and risk processes with jurisdictional obligations.
    • Drive process automation and system enhancements, leveraging strong technical knowledge of fraud engines and payment configurations.

    Requirements:

    • 3+ years leading Risk, Fraud, and Payments Operations and 6+ years in the iGaming industry.
    • Proven leadership skills with experience building high-performance teams.
    • Deep knowledge of fraud and abuse patterns across casino, live casino, and sportsbook.
    • Hands-on experience with fraud tools, payments platforms, and rules engines for prevention and automation.
    • Skilled in reporting KPIs, SLAs, and risk metrics to senior leadership.
    • Strong cross-functional collaboration with risk strategy, compliance, AML, and product teams.
    • Commitment to Customer Excellence in all player-facing decisions.
