BettingJobs are currently seeking a Head of Compliance for an established UK-based sportsbook operator.
The Head of Compliance will be responsible for delivering a secure and responsible gambling environment, ensuring compliance with regulations, and effectively managing and mitigating risks.
This role would be well suited to an experienced Compliance professional with proven experience working with the UKGC and comprehensive knowledge of processes, procedures and codes of practice.
Experience:
- Ensuring business activities conform with all applicable laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures.
- Develop an excellent working relationship with the UKGC and any other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Continually risk assessing company practices and policies, including conducting regular compliance reviews of internal departments.
- Developing internal policies and procedures, compliance training and protocols.
- Providing guidance and training in business-wide compliance policies and procedures, laws and regulations applicable to the business.
- Providing reporting on regulatory requirements and developments to senior management.
- Preparing compliance documentation with relevant constitutive documents for statutory, legal and regulatory purposes.
- Maintaining and reviewing legal agreements.
- Responding to queries and investigations conducted by various official bodies as the principal point of contact.
- Independently investigating and acting on matters related to compliance.
- Developing a ‘compliance first’ approach across managers and employees to mitigate risk.
- Manage the compliance team, supporting them with training and development.
Requirements:
- Experience working in a leadership role within the compliance function within a UK Gambling Commission licenced operator
- High level of understanding and experience of all aspects of LCCP and related guidance and its application.
- Detailed understanding of GC regulations
- Previous experience in complaints handling and regulatory reporting
- Ability to work confidently, under own initiative.
- Excellent team management and leadership skills.
- Effective communicator.
This role can be primarily home-based with frequent travel expected, at least once per month to offices in London and elsewhere in the UK, with occasional international travel.
