    Group Financial Controller

    BettingJobs is working with an established B2B company who are seeking a Group Financial Controller to join their Malta based team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee and manage all financial and management reporting for the group, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with IFRS and Maltese GAAP.
    • Consolidate financials across multiple entities and jurisdictions, including reporting for group-level stakeholders and investors.
    • Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
    • Build a new FP&A process to assess and evaluate the financial performance of the organization on a monthly basis through qualitative and structured presentation documents, ensuring alignment with long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts.
    • Ensure full compliance with Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) financial reporting requirements and coordinate regulatory submissions.
    • Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
    • Establish and maintain internal controls and financial processes to support business growth and mitigate risk.
    • Lead cash flow management, treasury functions, and working capital optimisation across the company.
    • Support strategic decision-making through financial modelling, scenario analysis, and commercial insight.
    • Oversee tax compliance, including corporate tax, VAT, and gaming tax filings.
    • Participate in M&A activities, including due diligence, integration planning, and financial assessments.
    • Perform risk assessments by analysing current risks and identifying potential risks affecting the company. Propose and implement mitigation strategies.
    • Analyse internal operations, identify areas for cost reduction, and enhance processes to improve efficiency.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in senior financial management roles, with a strong background in the iGaming industry (online casinos, sports betting, etc.).
    • Proven track record in group-level financial control, preferably in a multi-jurisdictional setting.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or equivalent is a plus).
    • Demonstrable experience in startup or mid-sized company environments, where adaptability and versatility are key.
    • Strong knowledge of IFRS, local Maltese tax laws, and MGA regulations.
    • Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or equivalent are preferred.
    • Experience in managing audits, leading finance teams, and working with senior stakeholders.
    • Strong proficiency in financial software (ERP systems, budgeting tools, etc.), including Excel and SAP.
    • Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a startup or mid-sized company environment.
    • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and strategic thinking.
    • Ability to balance strategic financial oversight with a hands-on approach to day-to-day operations.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in high-pressure situations.
