BettingJobs are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead operations for the Spanish market on behalf of a leading global betting and gaming group, based in their Ceuta office. The role will take full ownership of P&L and commercial performance across multiple verticals, including Poker, Sportsbook and Casino, overseeing a business generating in excess of €100m annually.
Responsibilities:
Strategic & Commercial Leadership
- Full P&L ownership for the Spanish market, setting clear strategic and commercial objectives.
- Define and implement the country plan across key areas including Marketing, Promotions, Product, Customer Operations, and Compliance.
- Ensure efficient allocation of resources to achieve both long-term goals and short-term performance targets.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of the local market, competition, and consumer behaviour.
- Drive collaboration across functions including Product, Marketing, Acquisition, CVM, and Customer Care.
Financial & Performance Management
- Set, monitor, and deliver against revenue and profitability KPIs.
- Identify new revenue opportunities and optimise existing business lines.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing financial performance reviews.
- Strengthen acquisition, retention, and customer value strategies to maximise lifetime value.
Commercial & Customer Strategy
- Build and execute a commercial plan across all verticals aligned to strategic objectives.
- Use customer insights and analytics to inform decision-making and drive growth.
- Oversee content localisation, UX, and product development to ensure market relevance and customer engagement.
- Direct promotional and customer contact strategies, ensuring efficient execution and measurable results.
Leadership & People Development
- Lead a cross-functional local team spanning multiple business areas.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
- Develop and mentor senior talent, supporting career progression and succession planning.
Regulatory & Stakeholder Management
- Ensure full compliance with local regulatory and licensing requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, affiliates, and other key stakeholders.
- Champion responsible gaming and player protection initiatives within the market.
Market Development
- Identify and pursue new opportunities for growth and market expansion.
- Strengthen brand positioning and customer engagement across all channels.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Country Director, General Manager or equivalent senior leadership role within the iGaming industry.
- Strong understanding of Poker, Sportsbook, and Casino particularly within the Spanish market.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering commercial success and P&L responsibility.
- Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills in English and Spanish.
- Flexibility to travel regionally as required.
