    Director of Payments

    BettingJobs is partnering with a leading provider of cutting-edge gambling software solutions in their search for a Director of Payments to join their team in Malta (or remotely).

    Our client specialises in creating high-quality, innovative software for the gambling industry, offering clients unparalleled levels of customisation and flexibility.

    The Director of Payments role is well suited to an individual who has excellent understanding of payment products and technologies, with a focus on innovation and user experience.

    Responsibilities:

    • Build and lead the payments department, establishing best practices and ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
    • Mentor and develop the Head of Payments and the Payments & Risk staff, fostering a high-performing team culture.
    • Create and implement policies, processes, and tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the payments department.
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the payments team, ensuring smooth and efficient processing of transactions.
    • Develop and manage relationships with Payment Service Providers (PSPs) to ensure optimal payment solutions and cost-effective services.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, particularly in black/grey market regions.
    • Collaborate with product teams to develop and refine payment products and services that meet customer needs and enhance user experience.
    • Lead the integration of new payment methods and technologies, ensuring seamless implementation and operation.
    • Monitor and analyse payment trends and technologies, leveraging insights to drive innovation and improvement.
    • Negotiate and manage contracts with PSPs, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for the company.
    • Develop and implement strategies to optimize payment costs and enhance profitability.
    • Conduct regular reviews of payment performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
    • Develop and implement robust risk management processes to mitigate fraud and ensure the security of transactions.
    • Oversee the identification and investigation of payment-related risks and issues, taking appropriate action to resolve them.
    • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure the company’s payment operations remain compliant.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in a senior payment’s role, with a strong focus on unregulated markets for example Aus.
    • Extensive knowledge of payments and risk management, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
    • Strong commercial acumen, with experience in negotiating and managing contracts with PSPs.
    • Excellent understanding of payment products and technologies, with a focus on innovation and user experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement efficient processes and tools within a payments department.
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate a diverse team.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to a variety of stakeholders.
    • Experience in the online gaming or e-commerce industry.
    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in black/grey market environments.
    • Familiarity with emerging payment technologies and trends.
