After a bustling week in São Paulo exhibiting at SiGMA Americas 2024, Carla Souter and I have now touched down in a rather less sunny Scotland. In what proved to be SiGMA Americas’ busiest year yet, Carla and I are excited to share our insights from this year’s exhibition. In today’s blog edition, we’ll explore the show’s evolution since our initial attendance two years ago and highlight key trends witnessed within the LATAM market.
An insight into SiGMA Americas 2024
During this year’s SiGMA Americas, a key highlight was the continued growth of the show. It has been great to witness the expansion of the conference since we first attended in 2022. There is plenty of buzz, interest, and excitement surrounding Brazil, and the country is now being seen as a continent in its own right when it comes to iGaming, rather than being part of the wider LATAM region. However, the hype around regulation in the region is somewhat tainted by the practical challenges which follow, in particular the cost and implications of local staffing, for example.
The show was truly representative of Brazil’s vivacious nature, from a plentiful array of bold and colourful stands to lively entertainment such as DJs and individuals completing an impressive number of football ‘keep-ups’. In comparison with other industry shows such as ICE London for example, the atmosphere of SiGMA Americas was buzzing with excitement and enthusiasm for the bright future Brazil holds within the iGaming industry.
Speaking with Carla, she provides the further insight into this year’s show:
“SiGMA Americas was as busy as ever and it’s always nice to feel a buzz around a show. This is clearly an exciting time for the Brazilian market and there were a lot of exciting topics to discuss at the event.
During the Women in iGaming Panel, we discussed navigating business expansion in LATAM including overcoming recruitment challenges. I’d love to highlight that this is what Bettingjobs does best. We are rapidly growing our network in LATAM regions and are here to help iGaming businesses grow locally in the Brazilian and wider LATAM markets.”
Carla and I would like to thank all those who visited our stand during this year’s show and took the time to speak with us. As always, we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Brazil, and we look forward to returning soon to witness the trajectory of the LATAM iGaming market and indeed the iGaming industry in Brazil.
