    Tax Manager

    BettingJobs is thrilled to collaborate with our client, a prominent online bookmaker known for transforming the sports betting and gaming industry, in their search for a Tax Manager to join their team in Malta.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure full tax compliance for the Group and subsidiaries across multiple jurisdictions, including timely preparation and submission of income tax, gaming tax, and VAT returns.
    • Review and coordinate international tax filings with local advisors, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements in all operating countries.
    • Oversee income tax accounting for both local and international entities, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting under IFRS.
    • Lead tax planning initiatives, identifying risks and opportunities, and implementing mitigation strategies aligned with global objectives.
    • Develop and manage intercompany arrangements, including transfer pricing documentation and management fee structures.
    • Manage and coordinate tax audits, liaising with internal stakeholders and tax authorities for efficient resolution.
    • Maintain and test internal tax controls and procedures to support regulatory and financial reporting compliance.
    • Support the implementation of tax technology tools and process automation across the Group.
    • Monitor global tax regulatory changes, assess impact, and provide timely advice to senior management.
    • Maintain accurate records and oversee group-wide tax documentation, including statutory reports and tax provision calculations.
    • Collaborate with external advisors and legal teams to support corporate structuring and governance requirements.
    • Act as the primary contact for tax-related matters, providing guidance to finance and cross-functional teams.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, or equivalent certification.
    • Minimum 10 years of tax, finance, or audit experience at a managerial or group level.
    • Strong knowledge of IFRS or equivalent financial reporting standards.
    • Proven experience in international tax compliance and planning.
    • Background in tax advisory, audit, or legal tax practice is advantageous.
    • High attention to detail and experience with cross-border tax compliance.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
    • Proficient in accounting systems, reporting tools, and tax compliance software.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex tax legislation.
    • Effective organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines across time zones.
    • Integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential tax and corporate information.
