Role Summary

One of the leading social betting and casino apps is seeking a number driven person that will be key in providing financial and analytical support to the Marketing team based in the UK, serving two sports betting and casino brands targeting UK and US customers and expanding quickly. This person will help to shape the strategy of the business and clarify performance via data-driven insights and scaled reporting solutions. They will play a vital role in ensuring that marketing spend and costs are projected and tracked closely and highlight to management when off trajectory – providing insight to where and why.

The ideal candidate will be numerically adept and a practical problem-solver, who is able to distil key messages from a mass of numbers to communicate performance to Marketing leadership. They will be an Advanced Excel user able to create their own reporting templates and complex model dashboards both in Excel and in our SAAS tool (Looker).

Comfortable with large datasets, this candidate will put in place simple and scalable Excel based tools to help local marketers identify revenue opportunities as well as measure the impact of advertiser events. With exceptional precision, they will act as the guardian of financial accuracy especially in terms of committed payments and actual payments made for marketing activity/services initiated by the marketing team and ensure alignment is maintained with the finance team. They will design a process that is efficient and self-managing to ensure that accuracy and reconciliation between marketing estimations and Finance actuals is swift, smart, and efficient.

The Marketing Finance Analyst will be integral to the marketing team and a bridge into the finance and legal teams. They will ensure that the financial elements of marketing are tracked and reported with unquestionable integrity as well as support the marketing team, the Head of Marketing and CMO across a range of daily and ad-hoc tasks which may include:

o reporting and analysis of marketing campaigns and/or opportunities
o review of marketing agreements/contracts and
o the subsequent project management of said contracts through to co-signature, researching and outreach to potential business partners/tools, and
o directly supporting the Head of Marketing /CMO in scheduling meetings and acting as scribe in the meetings in which you attend

The Marketing Financial Analyst will be imperative for the planning, forecasting and analysis for the marketing department. This may include forecasting future revenues and expenditures, as well as modelling capital structure and budgeting.

• Oversee the accurate tracking of media and partnership spend and ensure they are correctly represented in the finance and BI reporting and tools used
• Guide cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts, explaining processes and techniques and recommending actions
• Analyse marketing performance alongside changes and market trends
• Create forecasts and calculate variances between those forecasts and actuals; identifying and providing insights to the causes of such variances
• Aid in the capital and expenditure planning processes including the preparation of monthly and annual forecast planning sheets and documents
• Create and maintain various spreadsheets and dashboards to aide analysis and insight provision; providing a clear interpretation of trends and data
• Provide reliable assessments on channel and campaign performance; writing up the data in layman's terms and present to senior managers when necessary
• Identify and drive process improvements including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel/Looker dashboards: support the marketing team in data analysis through the available BI tools such as looker and create dashboards for ongoing use
• Creating models and provide analysis on marketing opportunities, new business opportunities and ongoing analysis on existing major customers and tying them back to acquisition costs
• Support the marketing team in the review of contracts and subsequently manage their progress through internal/external teams: finance and legal
• Fully comprehend the financial business model and work with senior marketing managers to ensure it is properly addressed in the marketing reporting
• Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and be responsible for month-end accounting reconciliation
• Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools including working with partner tools
• Perform market research to help maintain competitor knowledge within the marketing team

Basic Qualifications
• 3+ years of working with purchase orders, insertion orders and invoicing for a busy start-up environment
• Managing 7 figure cashflow and monitoring spend vs budget
• 3+ years’ experience of vendor procurement and new and renewing vendor contract review process.
• 3+ years’ experience of adhering to, and designing, compliant processes for either a listed or regulated business
• Business finance or other relevant experience
• High proficiency in financial modelling techniques using Excel
• Advanced knowledge of Excel formulas and functions
• BA/BSc degree in quantitative field (Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Statistics)
• Strong quantitative and analytical competency
• Good business acumen able to understand commercial principles and apply them in their daily decisions and actions

Preferred Qualifications
• 5+ years of business finance or other relevant experience
• Proven experience in identifying opportunities for business improvement, defining, and measuring the success of initiatives
• Experience using project management tools such as Asana
• Experience with SQL
• MSc degree or graduates who are chartered ACCA or CMA accountants
• CFA and CIIA certification
