The Head of Risk and Compliance is responsible for ensuring that the firm operates within regulatory frameworks and is compliant with all relevant regulatory legislation.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Lead a team of four in compliance and one officer in risk, tasked with identifying breaches in compliance, errors, near misses, incidents and events and ensuring that these are addressed and remedied.

Ensure that the Risk and Compliance team works collaboratively with the business and is seen as a valued business partner. Advising on any compliance and risk related activities. Be involved in investigations, whether instigated internally or externally.

Providing support, guidance and challenge to the business on any new business initiatives, transactional queries and material amendments to controls and process flows. Ensure all applicable laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures are strictly applied within the different departments.

Identify legal and compliance risk for the Institution. Review and monitor compliance with regulations and the relevant policies and procedures. Conduct compliance reviews. Be involved in regulatory change initiatives that impact the Institution.

Assess integrity of business functions process to identify relevant risk factors and the adequacy of the functions and management techniques employed.

Collecting and reviewing regular risk and compliance reports prepared by other departments. Conduct analysis and periodic reviews on potential operation risks and regulation issues.

Establishing the risk management policies, procedures and developing the risk function. Overseeing all aspects of the development, maintenance and implementation of the firm’s Risk Framework.

Establishing and reviewing risk and internal compliance monitoring metrics for all departments. Identify weaknesses in relation to internal control and make recommendations for improvement.

Preparation of Annual Compliance Plan and the Quarterly Risk Reports for the attention of the Board of Directors. Presentation of Monthly Risk Updates to the CEO.

Training and advising senior management regarding compliance and risk related matters.

Qualifications Required:

Advanced degree in Finance, experience with payment services and e-money regulations

AML, Regulatory compliance training's and relevant work experience (ideally with regulator)

Regulatory, risk and control focused employment background
