Betting Jobs are working with a well-established name in international sports betting and gaming, seeking to add an experienced Systems Engineer to their office in South East London.

Job Purpose
The System Engineer is responsible for building, maintaining, and troubleshooting our rapidly expanding infrastructure. The engineer demonstrates superb technical competency, deliver critical infrastructure mission, and ensure the highest level of availability, performance and team security.
The role will involve projects with immediate business impact such as decrease of human errors during software release, proactive identification of weak system’s area and ability to discover real time system performance and security metrics and infrastructure development to accommodate a growing worldwide company. The Engineer will work closely with the development team and will be responsible for supporting a proprietary low latency distributed system and application used for sportsbook. This includes software deployment and tools to help real-time monitoring and automation.

Duties and Responsibilities
Provides Level 2 support, Coordinates problem resolution among a variety of functional areas and provides subject matter expertise support for diagnosing and resolving problems
Maintenance and troubleshoot of IT infrastructure
Configuring, implementing and monitoring applications using tools like – Splunk, AppDynamics Application Performance Monitoring, TeamCity, Octopus, OpsGenie and others.
Configuring, implementing and monitoring of VMware vSphere with vCenter and VMware Horizon using tools like: VMware Operations Management, Turbonomic (VMTurbo), Veeam One Backup Solution.
Establishing and maturing 2nd level application response function like Sev-1 issue.
Acts as the technical liaison between IT teams, engineers and stakeholders, providing critical operational insight to upcoming implementations and strategies, including validation of ongoing solutions supportability.
Managing active IT incidents and driving the root cause to the closure.
Responsible for creating and implementing system enhancements that will improve best performance and reliability of the system.
Manage the load configurations of a central data communication processor and make recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks.
Troubleshooting systems and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
Perform changes to OS, databases, applications, servers, storage as well as backups
Working as infrastructure engineers, and work with DBA, application developers on deploying production application configurations, automation and maintaining application configuration.
Administer and troubleshoot issues relating to all the changes.
Be a part of 24x7 team to perform all maintenance operations globally.
Attend change and release management meetings to ensure communication of approved and planned changes
Leading contributor, as an individual and as a team member. Providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization
Working with application developers on deploying production application configurations, automation and maintaining application configuration on ongoing basis.
Providing application related training and assistance to other IT operations departments
Integration Operation Center and Developers on the new technologies.
Integrating solutions with other applications and platforms based on engineering requirements.
Leading or providing technical direction for the planning, designing, and execution of testing
Developing, maintaining, recommending, documenting, and supporting tools and backend utilities to provide capacity planning management.
Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and standards
Managing small to medium sized projects according to agree upon budgets and schedules.
Maintaining confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
Other duties as assigned.
