Betting Jobs are working with a new start up sportsbook who have been set up by veterans of the iGaming industry. They have offices based in Malta as well as Gibraltar and are sure to be a huge success in Europe. They are now hiring for an Accountant to join their growing team in Gibraltar.

This role would find you responsible for the day to day accounting and reconciliation needs of the business.

• Are trained and experienced in accounting and double entry bookkeeping to an intermediate or advanced level
• Have hands‐on experience using accounting software in a corporate environment (Sage products an advantage) including .csv import of journal entries and similar data
• Are capable of maintaining the books for multiple companies based in different currencies
• Have a strong understanding of foreign currencies and foreign exchange accounting on a transactional, revaluation and company reporting level
• Understand financial statements and the principles of consolidation and can explain and find your way around a balance sheet
• Are an expert at bank and sub‐ledger reconciliations and understand the principles of control and clearing accounts
• Can prepare month‐end accounts to final trial balance level, employing accruals, deferrals and reversing entries as required
• Are an advanced Excel user with the ability to process, analyse and make sense of large amounts of data including preparation of such data for accounting system upload
• Are comfortable in an online banking environment across a number of banking platforms

Reporting to the General Manager, the role will require you to:
• Own the day‐to‐day bookkeeping for the business
• Accurately code and record financial transactions in accordance with company policy
• Prepare accurate and timely weekly and monthly financial reports for management supported by written and verbal analysis and explanation
• Maintain, manage and keep current and accurate the company’s receivable/payable ledgers and liaise with customers/suppliers in respect of their accounts
• Establish and maintain strong business relationships with customers and suppliers
• Maintain contract and asset registers
• Prepare weekly payment runs and set up online banking payments for processing and approval
• Prepare information for and liaise with external services providers as required (e.g. re payroll, corporation tax and VAT returns, statutory financial statements and filings)
• Assist in the development of the business’s control environment and accounting and reconciliation processes and procedures, including the implementation and development of the company’s accounting software and reporting
