To support the Group with it's Finance responsibilities. The overall aim of this role is to improve value in all areas of the business by managing and reducing operational and production costs and implementing the most effective strategies. As the Local Finance Manager, you will contribute to lead and be part of our growing team in Spain working closely with leadership to support, optimise and drive daily operations and analyse and implement tools to support growth. Cash control and planning will be part of your daily tasks as well as ensuring good communication with both internal and external stakeholders. You will take ownership of the day-to-day financial management and administration of the business to ensue accurate and timely financial records and reporting
To provide accounting knowledge and assistance across all areas of the Finance function working together with other MIR Group offices and local leadership
Produce financial statements including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, monthly management accounts, variance analysis and commentaries. Initially this will be done in conjunction with existing external Accountants.
Assist in the production of the annual budget and periodic forecasting
Once appropriate training has been provided, and familiar with company systems, to provide recommendations on improvements
Ongoing review of cash flow and production of forecasts
Produce annual statutory accounts in management accounts format
Calculation, presentation and payment of VAT
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations
Carry out continuous reviews of working accounting practices and processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations
To be the main conduit for communications with External Auditors during Audit/year end process.
B.A or M.A in Finance or Accounting – or similar qualification
Have worked in a similar field for at least 5 years
Previous payments/banking experience as well as thorough practical knowledge of Spanish regulatory requirements.
Ability to interact with different levels of management and personality styles
Very high working knowledge of MS Excel
Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish
Has attention to detail
