Responsibilities:
• Developing and overseeing control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies
• Evaluating the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously
• Revising procedures, reports etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues
• Draft, modify and implement company policies
• Assess the business’s future ventures to identify possible compliance risks
• Lead, motivate and provide strategic direction to the compliance/risk team
• Ensure that the Board of Directors and Senior Management Team are kept abreast of any developments in compliance and risk requirements.
• Provide oversight and direction as a result of regulatory changes.
• Provide oversight and direction as a result of a crisis or compliance violation.
• Build strong relationships and act as the primary point of contact for the Jersey Gambling Commission, UK Gambling Commission and other official bodies (eg ICO).
• Design and implement compliance and risk monitoring plans and frameworks that identify, document and mitigate compliance risks associated with the business.
• Conduct on-going reviews of the organisation’s procedures, systems and controls to ensure that they meet current regulatory and audit requirements.
• Prepare reports, papers and submissions to the Board on compliance and risk matters.
• Provide day to day support to all internal and external stakeholders on any issues around compliance and regulation.
• Working in areas such as AML, CTF, Gambling Licence and Legislation, IBAS, PCI DSS,Advertising, Data Protection etc.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:
• Will require a Personal Managers Licence (PML) from the Gambling Commission (GC). If from outside the gambling industry an application can be made either prior to or on commencement of employment.
• Experience of working at a senior level in compliance and risk within a regulated commercial environment.
• Experience in establishing strong regulatory relationships – both internally and externally.
• Act as Deputy MLRO for the company;
• Maintain and monitor adequate controls for social responsibility requirements;
• Drive project development within the areas of responsible gambling and social responsibility;
• Assist and support the CEO in ensuring that the Operational compliance work carried out in other offices is carried out in accordance with the company’s processes, procedures, and licensing requirements;
• Carry out suspicious transaction reporting as required;
• Assist and support the CEO in relation to annual AML and Compliance audits and ensure that any deficiencies are addressed expediently
• Stay on top of any regulatory developments that may affect the business and communicate potential risks or developments to the CEO appropriately;
• Assist and support the CEO in ensuring that other regulations, such as data protection laws, are implemented properly across the business;
• Ongoing monitoring of customer activities to monitor the effectiveness of controls and identify risk areas;
• Work with other internal departments to ensure a high level of regulatory compliance is maintained across multiple verticals;
• Assist the company in regulatory matters when launching new products and brands (securing approvals from the regulatory bodies and other relevant parties and conducting risk assessments)
• Ensure marketing activity complies with all marketing, advertising, and social responsibility codes.

Experience & Character Required:
• Multi-year experience in a similar role
• Outstanding reputation for delivering complex compliance projects in challenging circumstances within allocated budgets and resources.
• In-depth knowledge knowledge of AML/CTF regulations and obligations, Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and knowledge of Data Protection legislation.
• Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and diligence in record keeping
• A self starter with a driven and motivated attitude.
• An excellent communicator, with good interpersonal skills.
• Confident in liaising with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the business.
• Able to work as part of a team and independently
• BSc/BA in law, finance, business administration or related field
• Functional qualification (enterprise risk management, ISO, and/or financial audit) would be preferable but not essential
• An interest or knowledge of iGaming, Sportsbook or Football highly desirable but not essential.
