As we continue to expand our footprint into 24 African countries, we are seeking two new Marketing leads - one to lead online marketing and one to manage retail channels. These roles will oversee marketing campaigns across all existing markets and launches into new territories.
Each will manage existing marketing teams and have the opportunity to grow your team locally as well as in the regional Centers located in Kenya and Ivory Coast. The role will require strong management skills, ability to establish structured department that delivers consultancy service to 24 countries (languages used French/English/Portuguese). The roles will form part of the Marketing Specialist Department, supporting African Business Divisions, liaising closely with Operations Development Department.
We continue our aggressive footprint expansion across African continent and our aim is to build best in the industry marketing campaigns to support two products, namely 80% to 20% split between Lottery, Sportsbook. We are looking for a seasoned Product Marketing expert versed in developing and delivering best of breed sales materials for each sales stage and tailored to specific customer groups.
• Please note that we the role can be either based in London.
• Please also consider that the role would require occasional travel to Africa. Initially, travel might be more frequent until the regional teams are established.

Market Research:
• Conduct detailed market and industry research to build an in-depth understanding of customers within a given country and liaise with the product manager to make required adjustments to the product.
• Act as the voice of the customers across the business, leading required developments in product development, reporting practices and expansion of network & POS (Points of Sale).
• Conduct media surveys and provide analysis on different media channels footprint and penetration
Project Manage:
Initiate, create and project manage marketing campaigns:
• Manage the marketing calendar and create and manage campaign project plans.
• Lead the stakeholders’ relationship and ensure communications around deliverables and timings managed correctly.
• Create the campaign in line with the local Brand and tailored to local customers. Manage and improve core communication in the customer journey, ensuring consistency with brand values and tone of voice
• Take overall responsibility for the team’s timely and thorough management of the work, ensuring projects delivered are of a high standard, on budget and meet company margin.
• Conduct media surveys and provide analysis on different media channels footprint and penetration
Social Corporate Responsibility Charity:
• Establish Social Corporate Responsibility strategy, vision and governance model
• Build mutually beneficial and strategic relationships with charities and NGOs across Africa, spread across: sponsorship; cause related marketing and employee fundraising.
• Deliver flagship CSR programmes and campaigns
• Create and manage the internal and external communication and stakeholder engagement plan in support of CSR programmes
Financial return on investments:
• Work closely with Commercial Analysts to review sales figures to ensure successful delivery of marketing campaigns on sales performance.
• Review budgets and plan annual investments.

Working with the Operations Department to create and deliver structured product training programs for sales teams.
• Work closely with the HR team to ensure all required stakeholders receive eLearning material on the campaigns and new product launches.
• Work closely with the local TV/ radio presenters to ensure highest level of performance on live channels.
• Establish and manage operationally and strategically a marketing team focused on delivery of creative marketing campaigns with aim to continue to acquire and expand our market share.
Support team management:
• Work closely with graphic design and content teams, ensuring detail briefs are provided as well as validate media plans.
• Where applicable, source local marketing agents and suppliers of marketing material. Review contracts and ensure all required adjustments are negotiated and implemented, ensuring the risk is minimised. As when required, follows up with all advertising, marketing and printing agencies.
• Support designer team in reviewing their artwork and provide guidelines in design such as menus, table mats, roll up, flyers, cards, etc.
Personal traits and previous experience:
• Successfully completed university at a BA or Masters degree, preferably in Marketing, or similar discipline
• Continues professional development in the Marketing discipline
• B2C Product Marketing Manager, preferably in retail industry
• Management of copy rights
• Excellent oral and written English and French
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Strong analytical skills and can focus on details without losing track of the bigger picture
• Innovative, showing a high degree of own initiative and independent working style
• Ability and enthusiasm to work in a global and multicultural environment
• Approaches problems with curiosity and open-mindedness, is a fast learner
• Team-player, willingness to contribute actively to the overall team spirit
• Capacity to readily adapt to a changing and dynamic environment
• Excellent Project Management skills
• Experience gained preferably across African countries etc

Other: Occasional travel to African Operations, which would require a valid passport and vaccinations. The Company will manage all visa applications and arrange transportation and accommodation during your travels.
