A new business that is launching to cater for the newly-regulating sports betting space in the US is searching for a Social Media Manager.
The role is perfect for someone looking for work experience during their student years. It will give some excellent work experience, the chance to learn, develop, and do some really cool things. Your role will be to help to lead and organise the social media strategy for a US sports website.
You will organise the client facing social media content, dictating the tone of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social handles, speaking directly to US sports fans.
Help to maintain social media handles, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
Plan and distribute content which is platform specific on a daily basis
Manage campaigns and competitions which will help to boost the organisation’s overall social media profile
Help to develop engaging written, visual and video content
Identify new and developing social media trends that can benefit the organisation
Engage with influencers in the relevant markets and build connections with them that can be mutually beneficial.
Working hours are flexible but organisation of time is key. You must be prepared to work around key events in the sporting calendar and be able to respond quickly to major developments. The role requires remote working and so an ability to communicate with a larger team from remote locations is necessary.
You should be a sports fan first and foremost, who is energetic, enthusiastic and keen to work in your area of interest. You should have an active social media presence and understand how to connect and build relationships online. You should enjoy communicating with people across different platforms and be able to both start and continue online discussion. The role is a junior position and would suit someone who is looking for experience in sports journalism and online media.
There are no set qualifications for the role, however, you should be articulate and have good spelling and grammar skills. You should be self-motivated and able to work both on your own and as part of a larger team. Photoshop knowledge and video creation experience are preferred.
