VP Brand Marketing – Tier 1 industry leading sports betting brand – US market (New Jersey-based)
One of the genuine industry giants who is leading the way in the US market is searching for a VP of Brand Marketing to lead a team to develop the brand proposition, bringing it to life across advertising, digital, retail, partnerships and customer experience. You will develop and execute annual brand plans to meet sales and profit goals and serve as a strong advisor & brand guardian within the organization.
Develop and implement a brand strategy in its key markets which is based in a deep level of insight, drives differentiation, has affinity with the target audience and meets the annual marketing objectives.
Develop results driven tactical plans for key ‘tentpole’ moments in the year and work with the wider team to implement.
Work closely in cross-functional teams to achieve marketing objectives. Key relationships will include the Acquisition, Retail Partnerships, Digital Content and Market Insight and Analytics teams.
Manage the creative agency relationship: ensure that there is a clear scope of work and that the relationship is healthy, productive and cost-effective. Build a team culture with the agency, provide high quality briefs and ensure creative work is fully aligned with brand and wider marketing goals.
Manage a small team which will include a Brand Manager and the in-house creative team. Ensure that team members are motivated and develop their talents. Manage a robust process for the origination and production of creative work internally with appropriate briefing and sign-off mechanisms.
Help create and manage the Brand Marketing budget: ensure that best value is always achieved and that spend stays within targets. Provide data and reporting to support wider marketing budget initiatives.
Develop strategic approach and detailed plan to execute retail and distribution partnerships e.g. casinos
Work with internal teams to roll out the brand within the organization and among key partners.
Analyze brand and program performance utilizing internal and external data sources.
Analyze competitive positioning, products, brands, marketing and promotion activities and spending.
Collaborate with product team to recommend, develop, implement and analyze qualitative and quantitative research.
Build strong and lasting relationships with cross-functional partners, including Product, Finance, and Business Development.
Minimum Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree required
8+ years of experience in brand management for a large-scale brand; 4+ years' experience in a leadership role driving large scale brand strategies
A keen interest in sport and media
Knowledge of sports & gaming industry is a plus, but not essential
Experience in brand launch in an omnichannel environment is a plus
Experience in managing agency relationships, and forming a launch toolkit for digital, TV and print – or director level at a brand strategy agency
Comprehensive working knowledge of all areas of brand management, including consumer research, brand strategy and creative executive
Exceptional troubleshooting skills and should thrive in high expectation scenario with many stakeholders
Exceptional communicator who inspires the team and engages on an executive level audience on relevant topics in a time efficient manner
Passion for brand innovation and ability to constantly reinvent and test new approaches and new technologies
Hands-on, with a passion for both strategic thinking and operational execution
