Betting Jobs are currently looking for an experienced Games Mathematician to join a leading games supplier based in their central London office. The Mathematician will be responsible for developing the maths models behind market-leading games. The ideal candidate will already have experience as a Games Mathematician, and possibly some experience as a Games Producer.
•• Develop and optimise game mathematical models in collaboration with Games Mathematicians, Games Producers and Games Prototypers.
•• Competent in completing calculation sheets and C++ simulations of complex mathematical models
•• Creation and management of game math documents. Ensure they are synchronised with the game during and after development
•• Program prototypes to visually represent the game model
•• Assist Game Artists and Games Producers with the game logic to ensure they can be achieved.
•• Brief model requirements to developers
•• Verify back end implementation of mathematical models
•• Be aware of all your projects and status in production, spot bugs and potential improvement tweaks in collaboration with the assigned Games Producer.
•• Analysis and reporting of games performance and player behaviour
•• Working with the Games Producer in future game design
•• To keep open and continual communications with your manager and your team with regards to workload and projects.
•• To work on any other reasonable task requested by your senior manager.
Skills & Experience Required
•• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Statistics (or equivalent experience)
•• A strong understanding and experience of probability theory
•• Strong written and verbal communication skills
•• Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities to solve a variety of problems in an accurate and timely manner
•• Must be self-directed and able to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment in order to meet multiple deadlines
•• A passion for gambling or gaming and its surrounding theories and models
•• Good knowledge of gaming products
•• An advanced user of MS Excel, comfortable creating and adapting large and complex spreadsheets
•• Solid interpersonal skills in dealing with individuals from a variety of disciplines.
•• Experience with C++ or similar to help develop simulations or more complicated math models
