Purpose of the role:
You will be required to lead a team of Network engineers. The main emphasis is to own and maintain the global network infrastructure. You will be required to manage technical developments and participate in setting standards as required. As Team Lead you will need to plan and direct the network team with regards to the architecture, design, system performance and security of our global network.
Working closely with technical and non-technical colleagues in a small Agile project-focused team, you will participate in all aspects of the design, delivery and support of a modern delivery platform. As a highly motivated professional you will enjoy the challenges of fast-paced problem-solving in a complex and rapidly evolving technical environment. Along with your highly motivated colleagues, you will deepen your experience of modern tools and approaches such as cloud, containers, DevOps, SDN and IAC.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
Lead a team of Network Engineers.
Provide direction, instructions and guidance.
Manage work flow of day-to-day operations.
Perform regular appraisal of team members.
Participate in cost analysis and budgeting.
Configure, maintain and monitor network equipment across globally distributed data centres.
Design, setup and configure complex switching environments.
Ensure network fabric security and availability.
Diagnose and resolve live operational issues.
Automate all of the above.
Manage routers, firewalls, switches, load balancers, security appliances.
Research and implement new technologies and products.
Participate in the Out-of-hours support rota.

Person Specification, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
Experience in a similar Team Lead position.
Extensive experience as a Network Engineer (CCNA/CCNP).
EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, IP subnetting.
VLANs, STP, LACP, VPC.
Load-balancing local and global methodologies.
Security: Firewalls, DDOS mitigation, WAF, L1-7 defences.
VPN Technologies (GRE/IPSec/SSL).
Cooperative, engaged, learner, teacher.
Experience of cloud and/or containers. SDN, IAC.
Knowledge of DNS tampering, IP blocking.
Deep packet inspection and keyword filtering.
Automation tools and techniques.
