Manager for Technical Support

UK leading proprietary Gaming Technology Development company seek a hands-on Manager for First Line Technical Support. You will be part of a small team of people making sure that systems and sites are optimised and working, achieving max uptime, as well as effectively communicating with a small client base.
The company had designed, built and currently operates its own proprietary on-line gaming platform and sports betting technology. The software is used to supply a fully-managed, white-labelled service for our clients. The company also offers a software licence for clients who prefer to maintain full operational control.
This is a hands-on, flexible role requiring on site and remote support – communicating with clients and interfacing with the company’s second line tech support team and front end to solve system and site issues. You will mainly be based from the London office, however, be expected to be on call to manage the team or deal with issues directly including out of hours and one weekend in four or five. Some remote working from home is also feasible.

Key technical skills:
• Familiar with next operating systems Windows 7 and 10, Windows 2012, Ubuntu, CentOS and Mac
• Network and computer maintenance experience
• GIT, Ansible, Nagios, Load Balancers, Web servers, Google Apps, Jenkins
• Front end knowledge and CMS very desirable
• Virtualization, basic scripting, SQL, Amazon Web Services
• Python, Perl, Regex and Java

The role
As First Line Technical Manager you will manage all aspects of client interaction (and internal stakeholders) with technical issues, improving the onsite infrastructure, supporting and maintaining the platform, testing security, dealing with configurations, analysis of logs from systems to pin point problems and effect a solution desktop support and leading a new IT team with a view to bringing on board more junior members into the team.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have a background in an IT Lead or Management position or alternatively experience with 2nd/3rd Line Support. Your technical experience will cover Windows OS, Server 2008/2012, Active Directory Networks (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP) and Microsoft Azure. Above all, strong leadership skills and excellent levels of communication will set you apart from other applicants
Ideal candidates will most likely be graduates with computing related degrees although people with hands on experience and the necessary qualifications are also urged to apply.
Excellent communication skills are essential as well as an analytical mind set, in order to solve issues quickly and efficiently. Other duties include testing and checking web sites (desk and mobile) in order to identify potential user experience problems.
