BettingJobs is currently looking for a Data Scientist Team Lead to join the Data Science team of a leading gaming company within the industry. The successful applicant will be responsible for several other data scientists, and will be working on a variety of projects involving statistical modelling. This is an excellent opportunity for a Data Scientist with experience in statistical modelling and previous management experience looking for a new challenge with a market leader in the betting industry.

Responsibilities:

• Managing relations with stakeholders to define and deliver key data science projects; customer behaviour, segmentation, predictive modelling, lifetime value modelling, churn prevention, high rollers identification, statistical simulations and what if scenarios, detection of favourable/ unfavourable impacts on business through data to a variety of senior stakeholders in marketing, operations and the executive management team
• Driving a team of Data Scientists to develop their abilities and produce high quality models and customer segmentation to be used across various areas of the business
• Carrying out customer behaviour analytics in key business areas and delivering actionable recommendations
• Manage and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders


Requirements:

• Degree (or equivalent) in quantitative area, for example Statistics, Maths, Economics
• 3+ years relevant experience gained in data mining/ advanced analytics, clustering, regression, predictive models and their main applications
• Passion and strong experience for data driven decision making
• Excellent modelling/ data mining, analytical and numerical capabilities
• Advanced level of excel, SQL, R, KNIME or equivalent
• Experience working with a Data Warehouse
• Proven ability to lead teams to ensure collaborative working and create a high performance team
• Excellent interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to function as a self-starter with emphasis on getting things done under pressure of tight deadlines
• A results-oriented team player
• Previous experience gained in or knowledge of online gaming would be an advantage
• Advanced degree or PhD is desirable
