BettingJobs is working with a leading iGaming company who are looking for DBA Team Lead based in Bulgaria to join their growing team.
Job role responsibilities
Implementation:
• Evaluation potential improvements and implementations that can benefit the performance of the current system.
• Implement a strategy to guarantee DLP to the highest level
• Work towards a proper general data retention policy to allow the optimization of data storage
• Comprehensive monitoring by using the agreed internal tools to allow better troubleshooting, improvements,etc on both production and test databases.
Management:
• Take ownership of the workflow, workloads and mentoring of the current team.
• Develop strong relationships with Product Owners, Product Managers, and team members .
• Collaborate closely with Product and Operational teams to provide engaging and clear insights in the appropriate context, enabling actionable recommendations.
• Enhance data accessibility within the department, including building business cases to enrich the data warehouse and improve the quality of analysis.
• Build a comprehensive ways of working with clear reporting and ownership to other stakeholders and senior management.
• Excellent communication skills as you will need to liaise with other departments within the company.
Technical Expertise:
• Maintain and develop the current production setup by optimization PLSQL and other business logic stored within the database.
• Have the expertise on migrating to a microservice type of work with splitting out a lot of the logic outside the database.
• Comprehensive knowledge on infrastructure as a whole and good practices when it comes to managing infrastructure related systems.
• You should be familiar with security protocols and best practices relating to database management.
Projects and Initiatives:
• Will be on the forefront of leading migrations and working towards a hybrid infrastructure model from the current fully on-premise setup.
• Work towards the migration to other database technologies from Oracle such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL and others.
• Reinvent the ways of working within the current team and expectations towards it when it comes to offering Database excellence.
Strategic Contribution:
• Contribute to the company's growth, revenue generation, and competitive advantage by providing key insights, analysis, and new thinking based on data-driven
decision-making.
• Help Product team to Influence strategic decision-making processes by delivering actionable recommendations and insights to the Exec team and other
stakeholders.
• Partner closely with Product and Operational teams to identify opportunities for optimization, process improvement, and innovation, based on data insights.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Lead and manage a team of database administrators (DBAs) to ensure the delivery of high-quality management and maintenance of our databases.
• Ensure that all databases are configured, maintained and monitored in line with our clients standards.
• Collaborate with other teams within the organization to identify opportunities for enhancing data quality and optimizing performance.
• Create guidelines, procedures, and documentation related to database administration activities for use by the DBA team.
• Be responsible for ensuring all user access controls are properly managed across all company databases.
• Manage the recovery procedures for all systems including backups and disaster recovery plans.
• Assist with troubleshooting database issues as they arise, promptly resolving them in collaboration with your team.
• Participate in evaluating new technologies to improve efficiency, security and overall service levels.
Where you Fit In
The DBA team is responsible for the day to day operations when it comes to managing, supporting, improving and more when it comes to all our databases. Within that team you are expected to own the full end-to-end management of the mentioned databases and have clear communication in case of issues, problems or the need for improvements. As the DBA team lead you are expected to lead a team of DBAs, mentor, provide clear reports and visibility to the senior management on the daily/weekly/monthly work/improvements/issues/etc, lead the improvements and optimisations together with development teams and more. The DBA team lead will also be responsible for managing the on-call rotation and support of the platform within the team.
