BettingJobs are working with an established iGaming/sportsbook Platform who are looking to add an Accounting Manager to their team in Malta.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the financial operations of the organisation.
Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and accounting processes.
• Ensure compliance with iGaming industry regulations and standards, such as gaming taxes and licensing requirements.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
• Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Provide guidance and support to the finance team, encouraging skill development and growth.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements, reports, and forecasts, presenting key insights to senior management.
• Generate regular financial reports for internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies.
• Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, aligning financial goals with business objectives.
• Monitor budget performance and recommend adjustments as needed.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of tax returns, including VAT and gaming taxes, in accordance with Maltese and international regulations.
• Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations that affect the iGaming industry.
• Work on production of year end and half year results. Including working with auditors and tax advisors.
• Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions.
• Oversee financial department employees, including financial assistants and accountants.
• Contract outside services for tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary.
• Track the company's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement.
• Seek out methods for minimising financial risk to the company.
• Research and analyse financial reports and market trends.
• Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making.
• Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes.
• Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company.
• Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
• Key team member in the production of group budgets and reforecasts.
• Assist and lead business cases as necessary.
• Liaison with IT, HR, Legal and other relevant internal departments.
• VAT returns for Malta
• Monthly and quarterly statutory returns for the group.
• Work on ad-hoc projects to support the commercial and strategic direction of the business.
• Liaise closely with the BI and database departments to work on meaningful KPI reporting.
• Continual improvement and streamlining of department processes.
• Support and assist Finance Director and/or CFO.
• Ad-hoc duties as required.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA) preferred.
• Proven experience as an Accounting Manager, preferably within the iGaming industry.
• Strong knowledge of iGaming industry-specific financial regulations and requirements.
• Familiarity with accounting software and tools.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
