BettingJobs.com are currently working with a leading sports betting company who are looking to add a Financial Accountant to their team in Gibraltar.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions and reporting. They will work closely with the finance team and other stakeholders to maintain financial records, comply with accounting standards specific to the industry, and support financial decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:
• Understand and apply accounting principles specific to the online gambling industry.
• Manage the company's general ledger and chart of accounts.
• Process and record financial transactions accurately and timely.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Assist with ensuring compliance with industry-specific accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls.
• Maintain accurate and complete financial records.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Review invoices, verify supporting documentation, and ensure accurate coding.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
• Assist in managing aspects of payroll and employee expense reimbursements.
• Understand and assist in ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations and licensing requirements.
• Prepare for review and submit regulatory reports related to online gambling activities.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for auditing and compliance purposes.
• Prepare financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets, specific to the online gambling industry.
• Generate financial reports for management, regulators, and stakeholders, considering industry-specific metrics.
• Assist in preparing financial forecasts and budgets, considering the unique dynamics of the online gambling sector.
• Collaborate with the fraud and risk management teams to detect and mitigate fraudulent activities.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Implement best practices for financial operations and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as marketing, treasury, and compliance, to enhance financial systems and controls.

Requirements:
• Professional accountancy qualification.
• Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Familiarity with online accounting software.
• Intermediate to Advance Excel skills.
