BettingJobs is working with an online bookmaker with a long history of changing the landscape of the sports betting and gaming industry through its integrity, high level of customer satisfaction, and revered risk management. They are seeking a Technical Project Manager to join their team in Toronto.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the end-to-end execution of technical projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, designers, QA analysts, and business stakeholders, to define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
• Effectively allocate and manage project resources, including internal team members and external vendors or contractors, to ensure optimal project performance and timely delivery.
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays or interruptions. Proactively communicate risks and issues to stakeholders and drive resolution.
• Research the impact of a project on other areas of the business and plan for mitigation or elimination of identified risks
• Oversee end-to-end testing and manage key issues with business and operations partners.
• Monitor project budgets and expenses, ensuring adherence to financial plans. Identify cost-saving opportunities and make recommendations to optimize project expenditures.
• Implement and maintain quality assurance processes and standards to ensure the delivery of high-quality technical solutions. Conduct regular quality checks and facilitate testing and bug-fixing activities.
• Understanding technical integration, cloud, and API technologies so decisions can be made on project.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes. Provide regular project status updates to key stakeholders and senior management.
• Mentor and guide project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Provide support, coaching, and feedback to team members to ensure their professional growth and development.
• Identify process improvements and best practices to enhance project management methodologies and drive operational efficiency within the organization.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Demonstrated track record of successfully managing complex technical projects from initiation to completion, meeting scope, timeline, and budgetary requirements.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams, drive collaboration, and manage conflicts effectively.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies and technologies, particularly in web and mobile application development. Familiarity with sportsbook platforms and online gambling regulations is highly desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Crisp & clear verbal communication with the ability to be assertive when speaking to a diverse audience. Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to present ideas, solicit input, negotiate compromise, influence decisions, and garner support of stakeholders.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure and manage competing priorities.
• Ability to make and help others make the best decision based on appropriate criteria, such as business need, opportunities, risk, compliance, and ability to achieve the desired outcome.
• Proven experience in engaging and managing stakeholders at various levels of the organization, including senior management, external vendors, and third-party providers.

• PM certification (e.g. PRINCE-II, PMP) and/or agile certification (e.g. scrum) are preferably.
Knowledge & Experience:
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combined with 3+ years of experience in project management.
• Experience in managing IT related projects, from start (initiation) to end (implementation and retrospective), including phases such as planning, analysis, design, development, QA and UAT.
• Proven experience with various software delivery methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile (e.g. Scrum).
• Strong understanding of the online gambling industry, including sportsbook platforms, betting systems, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, including software developers, designers, QA analysts, and business stakeholders.
• A history of leading and supporting successful technical projects, using various methods, such as PRINCEII/PMP, Agile, DSDM and/or SCRUM.
• Familiarity with project management software tools, such as JIRA, Asana, or Microsoft Project.
• Experience in managing projects involving integrations with third-party systems and APIs.
• Knowledge of sports betting and sports data feed providers is preferable.
• Knowledge of ISO27001 control requirements would be hugely beneficial.
