BettingJobs are working with a market leading sportsbook & casino operator, who are looking for a Support Developer to join their team.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in and maintaining the software systems, ensuring their efficiency, reliability and supporting the incident manager to resolve priority incidents according to SLAs agreed with their stakeholders. Their primary focus will be to work on incidents, investigation and resolutions of bugs and perform deployments related to their Java core platform and applications.

Responsibilities:
• Be the first point of contacts from the client's service desk and support teams once they require hands on experience with code to troubleshoot and resolve production or staging incidents.
• Write documentation related to solutions you have adopted to resolve an incident and / or wort on helpdesk triage development tickets to apply final resolutions for repeating problems.
• Utilize your expertise in SQL Server databases to troubleshoot stored procedures and implement scripts to guarantee data integrity.
• Demonstrate proficiency in T-SQL to create and modify scripts on-the-fly, catering to various business requirements.
• Leverage your scripting skills in Python, Perl, Bash, or PowerShell to automate tasks, streamline processes, and improve system efficiency.
• Exhibit a strong understanding of object-oriented programming languages, particularly Java or C#, to read, comprehend, build, and debug code.
• Possess hands-on experience with Linux systems, ensuring smooth integration and effective troubleshooting of software solutions.
• Work closely with Java application servers, such as Tomcat and JBoss, to tune, maintain and troubleshoot applications running on these platforms.
• Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills in English, effectively conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Translate complex technical concepts into simple language understandable by individuals at different levels of technical expertise, including the ability to communicate with a layperson as effectively as with a seasoned professional.
• Exhibit a proactive attitude and an eagerness to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies, tools, and programming languages.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Proven experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle databases.
• Strong knowledge of T-SQL and the ability to write scripts on-the-fly to cater to business needs.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language: Python, Perl, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming languages, preferably Java or C#.
• Experience with Linux systems and basic system administration skills.
• Exposure to Java application servers like Tomcat and JBoss is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Italian.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information in simple terms.
• A proactive and self-driven attitude, coupled with a passion for continuous learning.
• Ability to work within a shift rota and on call requirement shared with team members covering 24/7.
