BettingJobs are working with one of the world’s largest independent Sports Betting and Online Gaming brands and an industry leader in betting innovation who are currently looking for a Systems Operations Engineer to join their team.
Where you fit in:
The Systems Operations Engineers are highly involved and essential to each part of the business. From designing and implementing new solutions, with a focus on repeatability, efficiency, security, and reliability through to identifying, analysing and driving through improvements in the core systems, we take end to end ownership of issues from point of identification to complete resolution.
Your skills will be complimented with the latest tech and the projects will keep you challenged and motivated. You will find yourself communicating and collaborating with the other core teams in addition to business functional teams and third-party vendors. We will look to you to become the SME with the storage and backup technologies and to provide support to our production in a high energy yet flexible environment.
Technologies you will use:
• San Storage and backup technologies
• Scripting / Orchestration languages – Bash, Python or Ansible
• Linux
• Git or Similar
Whilst the above is just a snapshot of what we use, we would be looking for you to contribute your technical expertise and be willing to evolve your skillset with the goal of maintaining a highly resilient, scalable, and efficient operation.
Who you are:
You’ll bring with you a lot of experience and a background in a similar industry, especially highly transactional fast-moving environments. Intuitiveness, time management skills and the ability to manage change will help you a lot, along with being adaptable and willing to learn new skills and technologies.
Whilst not essential if you have previous experience with CI/CD and Docker / K8’s or orchestration tools such as Terraform or Salt this would welcomed along with an understanding of cloud concepts or knowledge of specific cloud providers would be useful, along with DevOps procedures.
The team:
This role will report directly into the Head of Sysops, and you will be working with colleagues in a multi-cultural working environment and so you’ll need to be a good team player, with excellent communication skills.
