BettingJobs are working with a successful online sportsbook and casino operator whoa re looking for a senior Regulatory Compliance Manager to be based in London or Malta (hybrid approach).
The company are currently looking for a Senior Compliance Manager to join our Regulatory Compliance Team in London or Malta. Reporting to the Head of Compliance the Senior Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the business meets its regulatory obligations across existing licenses in Europe, North America and Curacao. The role will support the business in the further development of its regulatory framework, underpinned by the implementation of effective policies, procedures, controls and risk based approach. The Senior Compliance Manager will be required to interpret and advise on regulations, whilst taking a practical and pragmatic approach in supporting business teams to deliver on key strategic priorities and initiatives.
The Candidate:
We are looking for an experienced professional to join the Regulatory Compliance team to help support the business meet its strategic objectives and growth goals. The candidate should have demonstrable experience of the essential skills listed below, and will be expected to assume the following responsibilities and duties:
• Lead the regulatory advisory function within the team, providing accurate, complete and timely advice to stakeholder requests, in accordance with jurisdictional regulations and the risk profile of the business.
• Manage a team of regulatory compliance officers responsible for overseeing the business’ ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements within the jurisdictions that the company holds licences.
• Ongoing controls monitoring to ensure the internal control environment is designed, implemented and functioning as intended, in compliance with local regulatory requirements. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop solutions to effectively mitigate risk where gaps and deficiencies
are identified.
• Manage the program of ongoing regulatory reporting and notifications across all licenses, ensuring all regulatory deadlines and submission requirements are upheld.
• Identification of upcoming regulatory changes, and the dissemination of requirements to business stakeholders. Completion of controls assessments against new requirements to identify gaps, deficiencies and areas requiring strengthening in the existing control framework.
• Oversee the completion of audits and regulatory assessments, acting as the key point of contact for auditors. Internal coordination of key stakeholder audit deliverables, and the drafting and management of audit remediation plans.
• Lead and support on cross-functional projects and initiatives in conjunction with the legal, operational, marketing, product, casino and sportsbook teams.
• Support the compliance governance process by helping in the preparation of key metrics and management information required to ensure appropriate internal and external escalation and reporting.
• Partner with the Training and Development team to deliver compliance training tailored to the needs of key business functions and aligned with local regulatory requirements.
• Engage in and represent the company to relevant regulatory authorities as needed to represent the company’s interests
Skills & Experience:
• Minimum of four years’ experience working within the gambling industry in progressively more senior roles. Additional post graduate or continued education (e.g. ICA, ACAMS, IRM, ILM qualified)is desirable.
• Demonstrable experience working with sophisticated regulatory gaming bodies in Europe, the ongoing management of gaming licenses and associated regulatory reporting.
• Ability to lead and support key interdepartmental projects and initiatives.
• Excellent time management and workload prioritisation skills with the ability to deliver high quality deliverables to agreed timelines.
• Strong process skills combined with commercial acumen and an ability to identify risk.
• Experience coaching, developing and supervising junior members of staff.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to accurately identify key issues and communicate them across a broad range of stakeholders.
• Ability and willingness to work in a fast paced, highly regulated environment whilst managing and embracing change
