Betting Jobs are working with an established online casino games company based in London. They are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their technical team in the UK.
In this exciting role, you will be working as part of a new DevOps capability to build infrastructure and solutions for the management and organisation of a platform. To succeed in this role, you will be required to gather requirements from stakeholders, design hosting solutions and CI/CD pipelines and understand how to build secure, scalable, efficient and fault tolerant solutions within cloud environments.
What you will be doing…
• Lead the identification of process and infrastructure gaps, design, and implementation of process improvements to increase operational reliability
• Identify and apply Functional and Non-Functional Improvements: Acts as the Overall Operations representative in Value Stream planning and prioritises sessions to ensure that Operational needs of assigned applications/platforms are addressed as needed
• Holds Operational Performance Reviews with Value Stream management
• Create and review technical requirements and translate into platform enablers in features/user stories
• Increase operational efficiency and promote stability through automation from a domain perspective
• Design and drive monitoring, alerting, ticket reporting strategies to measure SLA, SLO, MTTI, MTTR. etc and align with management expectations to reduce/minimise prod downtime
• Operational Performance & Stability: Works with other members of their assigned Value Stream to ensure that the in-scope applications/platforms are meeting performance and stability requirements. This includes managing Major Incidents to Mitigation/Resolution
• Problem Management: Performs Post-Incident Reviews of all Major Incidents and determines action items required to avoid similar issues/minimise downtime for future Incidents
• Monitors and Metrics: Works with Application Development to ensure that assigned applications/platforms have the appropriate monitoring and metrics in place to appropriately measure performance and stability
• Release Planning & Coordination: Works with other members of their assigned Value Stream to ensure that the Production releases for their in-scope applications/platforms are planned and coordinated. This includes Holds Change/Release implementation reviews to ensure thorough and appropriate implementation plans
• Provides review and sign-off/approval of change tickets for the assigned Value Stream. Represents the Value Stream in Change Advisory Board Meetings
• Understand, learn, partner with Infrastructure teams to pioneer modern technologies related to SRE functionality for alerting, monitoring, and reporting
