Description:

The Senior Manager, Regulatory Compliance shall be responsible for managing the regulatory compliance requirements in all jurisdictions in which it has or obtains gaming licenses. This role will report to the Head of Compliance as part of the Global Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance team, and the successful candidate will manage the Regulatory Compliance department. In addition to working closely with the Global Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance team, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to understand regulation and adopt a practical and pragmatic approach to be expected to work closely alongside the Operations and Product teams for Sportsbook and Casino.

Essential Job Functions / Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage the Regulatory Compliance team of compliance professionals responsible for overseeing and executing on all regulatory compliance requirements in current and future jurisdictions where the business holds licenses; including the training and mentoring of the Regulatory Compliance staff

• Monitor day-to-day regulatory activities to ensure that the Company’s online Sportsbook and Casino operations are compliant with the requirements of relevant jurisdictional regulations, directives from regulatory agencies, and other obligations of the organization from a Compliance perspective

• Implement, maintain, and routinely assess control systems to prevent incompatibility with regulatory guidelines and internal policies and operational procedures and work in close partnership with Sportsbook, Operations, and IT to highlight potential risk areas for the business and recommend ways to mitigate risk

• Analyze and distribute regulatory requirements of new jurisdictions as they pertain to trading, operational, and commercial functions in support of new market entries; Spearhead the development and ongoing revision of regulatory policies and operational procedures on a periodic basis to ensure Operations, IT, Sportsbook, Casino and related staff are adequately supported in undertaking development work and ongoing compliance requirements according to regulation

• Engage in and represent the business to relevant regulatory authorities as needed to represent the company’s interests, including with respect to integrity related matters to external integrity monitoring partners

• Ensure timely and efficient communications with internal teams, regulators, and external advisors regarding our regulatory compliance in all jurisdictions where Pinnacle is, or becomes, licensed; ensuring the Regulatory Compliance team prepares and completes regulatory responses and remediation plans for both internal and external audits, investigations, and reviews.

• Partnering with the Integrity Manager to maintain a framework for integrity monitoring of sport related corruption and/or suspicious activity in connection with regulatory requirements and corporate social responsibility; including establishing a process and procedure between the Compliance and Sportsbook teams to proactively identify integrity matters in our product offering and determine whether such activity warrants reporting to law enforcement, suppliers, integrity monitors, or sport governing bodies and reporting and representing Pinnacle for the same

• Oversee completion of required regulatory reporting and audits (both internal and external), including holding relationships with our gaming testing labs and compliance auditors

• Partner with other teams, such as Legal, Operations, Sportsbook, and Casino, to perform thorough and timely impact analyses of applicable new or changing laws, regulations and regulatory guidance impacting the company’s operations and product offerings.

• Manage a process for communicating regulatory changes with impacted areas across the organization

• Manage all license renewal applications and regulatory change management processes during the lifetime of gaming licenses with support from the Legal team

• Support the Compliance governance process by helping in the preparation of key metrics and management information required to ensure appropriate internal and external escalation and reporting

• Ensure there is a collaborative and coordinated approach to all related work to drive a sustainable and holistic Regulatory Compliance regime within the business; Support the development and implementation of higher-level compliance strategies and long-term department goals

• Prepare and oversee compliance advisory and training to staff as needed; including coordinating with Human Resources to ensure regulatory compliance requirements are part of onboarding training and arranging for additional training sessions as needed for proactive identification of regulatory compliance matters


Skills and Experience:

• 4+ years' post qualification experience working with sports betting and igaming regulations and capable of managing team
• Experience with sophisticated gaming regulatory bodies in Europe is mandatory, whilst experience including the Maltese Gaming Authority is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, at all levels of the organization.
• Proven track record of managing high priority items in high pressure environments under deadlines and/or pre-determined timelines.
• Excellent time management skills and a proactive approach to remain primarily responsible for regulatory change management processes as needed
• Strong business and commercial acumen and ability to quantify and qualify compliance related risks in both a B2C and B2B business environment.
• Lead and support key projects and initiatives, and effectively communicate projects, tasks, and deadlines across the Regulatory Compliance team.
• Motivated to take on challenges and quickly evaluate risk to make an informed recommendation to senior management.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required.
