One of our clients are a successful online sportsbetting company with 20+ years experience in the industry and operations across 4 countries. With offices in Toronto, they are looking for a Toronto OR remote-based General Manager for Canada to oversee all sportsbetting operations for the region.

They pride themselves on their prominent USPs, and in this hugely exciting role, your mission would be to leverage their unique brand proposition in order to continue building and expanding their footprint in the Canadian Market.

This role will serve as a driving stimulus behind the growth, ROI and scalability of the company’s regional market expansion, and the successful candidate will welcome working in a result-oriented environment while maintaining a strong sense of team, collaboration and imagination.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
• Evaluation and board level presentation of the market opportunities, scoping out cost/benefit and feasibility across our core operational functions
• Ownership of Canadian market expansion roadmap and market access timeliness
• Scope out product and platform requirements for new Canadian market opportunities followed by continuous improvement and innovation
• Explore JV and partnership opportunities in order to facilitate and optimise the commercial impact of new markets
• Work closely with legal and compliance team to guarantee licensing requirements are planned and executed for new Canadian market entries, in what is a complex and competitive regulatory space
• Communicate as needed to key departments within the business - Customer Service, Affiliate Marketing, Content, Design, Product and BI departments
• Regular communication and reporting business performance against target KPIs
• Work closely with Business Intelligence function to evaluate business performance
• Pinpoint the payment provision and processing requirements for new markets, working closely with payments team to drive solutions
• Keep up-to-date with market and industry knowledge. Ensure all relevant regulations and relationships with third parties are maintained
• Perform and support other duties as assigned

Skills & Experience:
• A minimum of 5+ years’ exposure to betting and gaming and its global environment
• A minimum 3+ years’ track record of working in betting within the Canadian market and therefore knowledgeable about this market
• Experience in Canadian and/or International market expansion and working across multiple stakeholders, managers and teams
• Excellent communication skills in English and French (ideally)
• Analytical skills to assess new Canadian market opportunities, existing deals and forecast and identify trends
• Strong presentation skills and ability to convey strategic plans across different levels of the organization
• Experience representing a well-established brand
