One of the leading Sportsbetting companies in the world are looking for a Senior Risk Officer to join their team in either Malta, Sweden or London.

The role of Senior Risk Officer is to manage the function as a first line of defense by contributing to the oversight and execution of a wide range of risks as well as for the implementation of the Company’s risk strategy.

The position will involve working with individuals across all levels (from senior executives to junior team members) across the organization, and thus, strong stakeholder management and relationship building will be critical. In specific instances, the Senior Risk Officer will also work with external consultants.

Essential Job Functions / Main Duties & Responsibilities:
• Managing the risk register process;
• Design, develop, maintain and publish the risk management processes to support effective risk management in a high performance organization;
• Design, develop, maintain and implement processes to monitor the effectiveness of the risk management processes across the organization;
• Managing the risk reporting process and ensuring appropriate escalation of issues and risk findings to all relevant stakeholders;
• Develop and maintain the business specifications for IT tools required to support the effective implementation of risk management processes;
• Management of and maintenance of risk system(s);
• Supporting “1st Line” to own & report on risks;
• Reviewing the performance of the validation process, and ensuring that findings and test fails are escalated to all relevant stakeholders and the audit committee;
• Working with the HR Training and development team to ensure appropriate risk-focused training to the company;
• Ensuring that risk policies, procedures and process documents are kept up to date and remain relevant for the evolving business;
• Keeping the risk management-owned standards up to date and remediating any identified gaps;
• Identifying, measuring, managing and reporting risks;
• Helping develop processes to better evaluate business-specific risk;
• Monitoring important as well as critical risk issues;
• Conducting risk and compliance assessments;
• Working knowledge/exposure to ISO 31000 and ISO 27001 requirements;
• Chair the Risk Committee and manage the output and delivery of the meetings;
• To ensure timely and accurate minutes of risk meetings are prepared;
• To continually review the content of each Risk Committee in light of businesses developing risk profile, regulatory position and industry best practice

Skills & Qualifications:
• Possession of a post-graduate degree in a discipline relevant to the role and/or recognized qualification(s) in Risk Management will be considered an asset
• Applications are expected to have a minimum of five (5) years in a senior role in relevant industry
• Candidate should be assertive and self-confident to carry out the responsibilities within the risk management function
• Ability to multi-task, meet strict deadlines and produce high quality work
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
