Our client, a growing tech driven iGaming business, is looking for a Lead Engineer to scale their engineering team whilst also being a key hire to delivering excellence in technology. As they build solutions to meet the needs of customers, they are also focussed on optimising for resilience, performance and scalability using continuous delivery tools and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:
● Lead by example, mentor the team and establish credibility through quality technical execution and continue to be hands on with code as needed to keep things running smoothly
● Be an expert leader in the architecture, code patterns, testing and continuous integration details for areas your team works on
● Provide mentorship and expertise for the design and development of the platform
● Develop tight relationships with multiple software development partners, ensuring that
product needs are met from an operations perspective
● A commitment to recruiting, growing and inspiring a diverse, equitable, respectful team and
workplace
● Support , mentor and coach as well as provide professional development for your team
● Perform continuous team member evaluations to enable frequent feedback
● Facilitate inter-team communication across many agile teams within an organization
● Work with other leadership to collaborate on strategy, coordinate on dependencies, establish
clear effective ownership for teams and continue to adjust to make the teams effective
helping to deliver the best products we can
● Collaborate with Product Management to align on product scope
● Interact closely with a distributed team. Requires regular travel

Essential Skills And Experience:
● Excellent written and verbal communication, able to collaborate and rally support
● Experience building and managing a team of software developers in a geographically distributed team
● Experience with Agile development, specifically MVP style software development approach with semi-monthly sprint planning and review sessions
● Experience working with a geo-dispersed team enabling tight collaboration
● Background as a software engineer is essential with familiarity with the full tech stack for
backend platform engineering e.g. Java, Docker, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, etcd, relational
databases etc.
● Expert in various software architectures such as monolithic OO applications to distributed
systems and microservices
● Deep understanding of software methodologies and processes and experience with Agile
● Experience with modern CI/CD concepts like continuous integration and delivery, project
management and reporting tools (e.g., Gitlab, CI/CD tools, Jira, Confluence, etc.)
● Experience with AWS technologies and networking
● Comfortable leading discussions with upper management and have experience tailoring the
level of technical details to suit the audience

Required Education:
● BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree
● 3+ years of managing software teams
● 12+ years in technology
