I am working currently on a Head of Technical Operations role for a client who has spent the last four years and £35 million building a new platform to a Tier 1 UK-facing operators’ online business. With plans to support their retail and international brands in the near future.

Their platform houses a full product suite including sports betting, gaming and player management with a customer facing website and mobile apps and all the back-office systems that make the business work.

Job Purpose:
• Responsible for ensuring the Technical Operations teams are aligned with the business’ vision, values and objectives
• Working alongside your peers in the Delivery, Product and Technology teams to ensure the Technical Operations teams processes align with the rest of the business
• Overall responsibility to ensure the technical operations of the company are efficient, effective and provide high levels of service to the business, the Betfred Group and it’s customers
• Accountability for over 50 colleagues across the Technical Operations teams which consists of Service, Platform Engineering, Networks, SRE and Data Engineering
• Line management of Head of SRE, Head of Infrastructure, Head of Data Engineering, Network Manager, Platform Engineering Manager, Head of Service
• As a senior leadership team member, you will report to the CEO and have strong stakeholder management skills
• You will lead on strategic planning, development and implementation of specific initiatives and transformation projects across Technical Operations
• We work in a highly regulated industry where compliance is part of our every day and therefore, we require someone who is process driven and can define the processes their team will work to
• Ensure the teams are able to provide efficient 24/7 support to internal operations teams, corporate users and business critical production systems

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• Experience in leading and scaling a technical operations team in a maturing environment
• You will need to enjoy working in a fast paced environment
• You will be willing and able to put in whatever effort is needed to make sure the business is successful. This is not a 9 to 5 job, our busiest day is a Saturday
• Great line management skills that provide you the ability to inspire and drive your team of senior direct reports
• With such a large team you will need to be organised
• It would be desirable if you have worked in the gambling, another highly regulated industry or another high volume 24/7/365 business
