I am working currently on a Head of Platform Technology role which a client who has spent the last four years and £35 million building a new platform to a Tier 1 UK-facing operators’ online business. With plans to support their retail and international brands in the near future.
The platform houses a full product suite including sports betting, gaming and player management with a customer facing website and mobile apps and all the back-office systems that make the business work.

Job Purpose:
• Responsible for ensuring the alignment of the Platform Technology teams with the business’ vision, values and objectives
• Overall responsibility to ensure the Platform Technology the companies delivers is scalable, easy to deploy and cost-effective to manage
• Accountability for our Platform Technology teams which consists of Architecture, Engineering, and QA. You will ensure there’s effective, efficient and collaborative working between your teams and that they share a common purpose
• Line management of the Head of Engineering, Head of QA, Lead Architect
• Working alongside your peers in the Delivery, Product, Retail Technology and Technology Operations teams to ensure the Platform Technology team’s processes align with the rest of the business
• Must be keen on keeping up to date with new technologies, techniques and processes, and identify where these could lead to improvements for the technical teams’ services
• We work in a highly regulated industry where compliance is part of our every day and therefore, we require someone who is process-driven and can define the processes their team will work to
• Ensure the teams can provide efficient support to internal teams and 24/7/365 support to the mission critical production system

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• Experience in leading and scaling technical teams in a maturing environment
• You will need to enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• You will be willing and able to put in whatever effort is needed to make sure the business is successful. This is not a 9 to 5 job
• Great line management skills that provide you the ability to inspire and drive your team of senior direct reports
• With such a large team you will need to be organised
• It would be desirable if you have worked in gambling, another highly regulated industry or another high volume 24/7/365 business
