Bettingjobs is working with a leading iGaming provider seeking a Head of Compliance to be based in their St Albans office.
The Head of Compliance will focus on our Gambling Commission regulated fixed odds sports betting business and oversight of our FCA regulated sports betting business. This role sits within the Compliance and Legal team, which is split in to 2 teams, Sports and Financials and reports to the Chief Finance Officer.
This role will head up the Sports compliance team and has ultimate oversight of all areas relating to GC regulation and depending on experience may be the SMF16 Compliance Officer for the company and a Gambling Commission Personal Management Licence holder. Depending on experience, the SMF 17 (MLRO) function may also fall within the scope of this role.
Responsibility for the strategic development of the Compliance team, ensuring the business is fully supported with up to date and timely regulatory advice and creating a robust compliance culture. You will lead on providing advice on all compliance matters, as well as updating the compliance policies and procedures in line with UK GC regulatory requirements. You will be the main point of contact for the GC and report to the Board on all GC regulatory matters. You will be responsible for overseeing the Senior Manager regime ensuring the company fulfils its obligations.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
You will have day to day oversight of the GC regulated business managing a team of regulatory compliance officers to ensure the business is compliant with GC Legislation, LCCP and Guidance with a special focus on affordability, safer gambling and AML. You will at all times, ensure that Directors are kept fully informed.
You will lead the promotion of a robust Compliance awareness across the firm including assisting with the development of face-to-face compliance training supported with e-learning training. You will work closely with our Sports traders, marketing, back office and IT teams providing advice and guidance on regulatory matters and training on safer gambling and affordability.
Above and beyond ensuring all policies and procedures are up to date and in line with the regulatory requirements, you will be responsible for constant horizon scanning to ensure changes in the regulatory environment, particularly risks, are identified early and compliant and commercially sensitive adjustments to policies and procedures are implemented on a timely basis.
As we look to expand into other markets you will have responsibility for ensuring compliance with all the reporting requirements across all jurisdictions. You will also provide regulatory advice to all business areas launching new products, promotions and initiatives.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in a compliance function within a UK Gambling Commission licenced operator
• High level of understanding and experience of all aspects of LCCP and related guidance and its application.
• Detailed understanding of GC regulations and guidance
• ICA or equivalent qualification in AML
• Previous experience of being MLRO or deputy MLRO.
• Previous experience of complaints handling and regulatory reporting
• Ability to work confidently, under own initiative.
• Team management and leadership skills.
