BettingJobs is collaborating with our client in their search for a Senior DevOps Engineer based at their vibrant Malta office on a full-time, on-site basis.
Our client specialises in creating high-quality, innovative software for the gambling industry, offering clients unparalleled levels of customisation and flexibility.

As the Senior DevOps Engineer, your main responsibility will be deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing solutions to streamline our client’s maintenance and release procedures. The Senior DevOps engineer will also help plan projects and be involved in project management decisions, as well as building and implementing new tools and infrastructure to support development, amongst others.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering and be familiar with Cloud Services, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK and will work with developers and engineers to ensure that software development follows established processes and works as intended.

Responsibilities:

• Deploy updates and fixes and provide Level 2 technical support.
• Build tools to reduce errors and enhance customer experience.
• Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems.
• Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Develop automation scripts to streamline visualization.
• Design and implement procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Collaborate with the software development team to ensure adherence to processes.
• Ensure systems are secure against cybersecurity threats.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer.
• Strong experience with Git and GitHub workflows.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes and container orchestration, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
• Experience in Kafka management.
• Working knowledge of databases and SQL/NoSQL, with experience in PostgreSQL and MS SQL Server, Redis, and MongoDB.
• Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Bitbucket.
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms at least two of AWS, Digital Ocean, Alibaba Cloud.
• Knowledge of networking concepts, CDN services (e.g., CloudFlare)
• Ability to analyze technical problems and propose effective solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in AWS, Kubernetes, or other relevant technologies.
• Experience with multi-cloud deployments.
• Understanding of security best practices and compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
