SBC Barcelona is over for another year, and it was a short but sweet time for BettingJobs MD Jennifer Innes and iGaming recruiter Jonathan Revie 🇪🇸
Prior to traveling to sunny Spain for SBC, we caught up with Jonathan who gave us an insight into what he was looking forward to ahead of the event. Jonathan highlighted that he was keen to reconnect with global clients, as well as meeting with Spanish and LATAM clients post covid and easing of restrictions on international travel. As always, SBC did not fall short on delivering excellent results for our team!
Following the event, we spoke with BettingJobs MD Jennifer who provides a detailed insight into the successes and key takeaways of the event.
“As always, we thoroughly enjoyed attending the show. It was extremely worthwhile to connect with several clients again following a long period of lockdowns and restrictions. It was amazing to witness the trajectory of some of our candidates' careers since we last spoke with them. After the show, we attended a VIP dinner which was an excellent experience all round. We were also able to meet with and observe world famous poker player Molly Bloom, whom the Hollywood blockbuster movie ‘Molly’s Game' is based on. This was a fantastic experience and one to be remembered. A not so fantastic experience, however, was my emergency plane landing on the journey home to Scotland!”
“It was also interesting to hear further insights into the US market from clients, who mentioned pivoting away from the US regulated market which has not been generating as much profitability as first anticipated and are now looking to hire at a lesser price point”
“Across the duration of the show, it was particularly insightful to listen to a variety of perspectives from clients across the globe who operate at different levels, as our services are more focused on helping small and emerging companies. A recurring topic of conversation was Brexit, where clients (including ourselves) have expressed difficulty with Brexit visas” - Jennifer Innes, BettingJobs Managing Director
Overall, SBC Barcelona was a great success for Jennifer and Jonathan who represented the BettingJobs team excellently. Minus Jennifer’s emergency plane landing home, it was a trip to be remembered with lots of great entertainment and conversations involved! We would like to thank everyone who took the time to speak with us during the event and look forward to meeting again in the near future.
